In an intense Game 2 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals played on May 19, 2023, Miami Heat player Jimmy Butler was seen exchanging heated words with Boston Celtics player Grant Williams during the second half of the game in Boston.

Miami Heat emerged victorious with 111-105 as they pulled off a 24-9 run after the incident to clinch their second straight road game win.

Jimmy Butler-led Miami Heat won both their road games against Boston Celtics to take a 2-0 lead in their NBA Eastern Conference Finals 2022-23.

Jimmy Butler gets last laugh after Grant Williams poke the bear in game 2. In Game 2, Grant Williams and Butler got involved in a heated on-court exchange as the Celtics forward poked the bear when the home team were in a lead while Miami forward got the last laugh over Williams.

After making a three-point shot over the Heat forward with less than seven minutes left in the game, Grant Williams trash-talked at Butler. Butler, who grinned at Williams, then scored a and-1 against the 24-year-old forward, forcing the two to square off and get into a furious argument.

With 6:25 left in the fourth quarter, the score was 87-96 in favour of the Celtics when Williams made the three-pointer and fouled Butler on the other end of his made shot. After the incident, the Miami Heat went on a 24-9 run to win the game with a final score of 111-105, winning their second straight road game against the Celtics.

Speaking of the game, Miami led Boston by four points at the half. The Celtics then dominated the third quarter, 33-21, to build an eight-point advantage going into the fourth. The Heat did, however, finish the game strongly thanks to Jimmy Butler’s 27 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, Caleb Martin’s 25 points, and Bam Adebayo’s incredible 22 points, 17 rebounds, and nine assists.

With a game-high 34 points, 13 rebounds, and 8 assists for the Celtics, Jayson Tatum outscored Jaylen Brown (16), Malcolm Brogdon (13), and Robert Williams III (13), who combined for 42 points. Game 3 of the NBA Conference Finals 2023 will take place on Sunday night, and the Celtics will travel to the Miami-Dade Arena to take on the Heat.
